1  Bright Future Nursery School

Bright Future Nursery school is a community pre-school located in Namanla Village, T/A Nkalo in Chiradzulu District , Southern Malawi, 40 kms from Blantyre City. The School started its operations in 2013 and it was initially operating in a dilapidated house at the Village Chief’s Compound. The first enrolment of the school was 21 children.

Learning at Bright Future is free however parents of the children contribute a bucket of maize which is mealed to make flour for porridge. Volunteer caregivers provide the teaching to the children.

Bright Future Nursery School has graduated 4 cohorts of children who have been promoted to primary school. The children who graduate from the Nursery school enroll at the nearby Namadidi Primary School. The enrolment for the Nursery School has grown to 126 in September 2017.

Give to Grow a community volunteer organisation has worked with Namanla Village Development Committee (VDC) since 2014 mobilizing resources for recurrent costs and infrastructure development of the School. In 2017, Classrooms for Malawi (CfM) a Scottish charity donated a two classroomed block to ease the problem of learning space.

Alongside the CfM project, Give to Grow helps to facilitate fundraising campaigns to support the school costs and the provision of teaching and learning materials. A kitchen project built by the villagers is underway and it is estimated to be completed by December 2017.
